ecm not seeing temp
ecm not seeing temp i have had this ongoing problem with the computer not getting a reading from the coolent senser. hp tuners just reads -38. the dash gauge has always worked though. the car starts up fine cold but after it has been ran and shut off just turns over and does not want to start. i have replaced the senser after i broke it with the header install but the one i purchased from a parts store didnt fit corectlly so i got another. not sure if the ecm was getting a signal before the header instal or not. we didnt start tuning on it until after that. a little more info the car is a 98 but i believe the motor has been swapped to a 99 or newer. but it uses the 3 pin sensor. both replacement sensers are from parts stores and wondering if i should go to the dealer to get a new one. any info would help. thanks
How many wires go to your CTS?
If it's a 3-wire sensor then one of them goes to your gauge,
another to your PCM. The PCM wire is the one that counts.
I think one of your wires is bad (disconnect or break).
If it's a 3-wire connector, then you have to have the 3-wire sensor to match.

the plug and harness are 3 wire and the sensor is 3 pin. is there a link to the ecm diagram where i can look up which pin it is on the computer and test it for a break or bad connection to make sure the wire is ok?
