I've had the Harlen Shift Light in my car for about a year now, and It's work flawlessly, (except for comming on with the windshield wipers, but we know what causes that). Today, however, it's acting funny. It just blinks repeately over and over again, from idle to full 6000. My guess is that the signal wire is broken somewhere.
Has anyone else had this happen? Am I on the right track?

The repeating flash is an indication that the memory has been lost. You will have to reprogram the RPM setting and the cylinder setting, and it should be ok.
If not, i'll replace it
FWIW, i've fixed the wiper thing. Or so far as i know i have

Hey thanks Harlen for the way fast response!
I'll try reprogramming it and see what happens. I appreceiate the offer to replace it. I'll let you know what happens.
I've heard that you've fixed the wiper thing, I have an old light that was pre-known wiper noise knowlege. I suppose I should install the capacitor to fix that, but I don't race in the rain so it hasn't been a big priority.

Heya Harlan![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
I was wondering what the wait time is from ordering a shift light to actually receiving it in the mail?
I know you have been very busy! So I am curious as to how long it would take to get one.
Thanks!

Harlan, I just received mine about two weeks ago, planning on doing the install sometime in the next week. Is there anything I need to do to avoid the windshield wiper problem or should it be fine if I follow the instructions?

Hey all, I just wanted to say, you do not have to remove the computer like it says on Install University to get to the firewall grommet. I just looked down there with a flashlight, used a metal strip from an old wiper blade, folded the top over, tied the wire around it, and pushed right through the existing hole in the grommet. Took about 12 seconds. Just thought I might save you some aggrevation.

Harlen, I hate to report this, but I think the light is no more I reprogrammed it like ya said, and it works great, indicates the set RPM and lights up when the motor is at that RPM. When I shut off the car, then when I restart the car, it just blinks again.

TA girl
It's about a week right now. I'm in the middle of getting the car running again so time is a hot item these days
Todd
If you got it in the last few weeks, you should have nothing to worry about. The wiper thing was fixed back in november.
