Default Auto tap

Every time I try to use my auto tap, my laptop cannot connect with module. Everything is connected correctly, any ideas on what to do?

Have you been able to hookup in the past with that laptop? Could you have a com port conflict?

No conflicts, it just says "No Auto Tap module found". This is the first time on this computer, but I know the port works because I use it at work.

I believe the AT1 is powered from the PC serial port so both DTR and RTS pins are held high by the Autotap software. If these pins are not working properly the com port may still function properly for other applications (that do not use these pins) but AT1 interface will not power up.

Just a wild guess <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

Make sure that the port in your PC is active (ON)!

You could check from the BIOS setup.

All of the autotap's take their power from the vehicle. If you have a blown fuse, this may cause a loss of power on the OBDII port. I do believe early model AT1 interfaces did use the RTS/DTR lines for power.
I develop software for them and found that to be the case.
However, I just tested a later model interface and it appears to work fine without the DTR and RTS lines.
