I dunno if the LT1 has "Idle air control" but if it does, id look there first... Thats usually where idling problems start..

 

I have a problem with my '93 Trans-Am LT1. It wont idle at all. Dont know whats wrong and dont have the cash to get it hooked up. It wont idle at all when I first crank it and then idles at about 500 or less when its warm and its backfiring like crazy too. What could it be???

 

You should really find someone and get it scanned. Would take alot of the guess work out..
