I installed offroad y pipe & 02 sims. About 20 miles later i get a s.e.s. code 140 & 160 no activity detected. 02 sims are the 3 wire kind,do i need the 4 wire kind?

 

I have the same problem. I bought my Simms from Ramchargers. I'm going to call them and see
if they have heard of this problem before.

 

I also bought mine from ramchargers.Took them back they said i may have gotten a bad set.We'll see! I reconnected my stock o2 sensers & no codes yet after about 100 miles.

98 t/a,red,smp lca's,hand fabricated strut tower brace,tb bypass,throttle stop mod,k&n,timing tricker,cags,cooling fan mod,whisper lid,offroad y-pipe,flowmaster catback,ported maf,ported tb,FRA mod,egr mod.

 

you need the 4 wire kind....had mine on. drove for 15 miles and got SES light. replaced the 3 wire ones a week later and the SES light was off after i reset my PCM.

 

Who carries the 4 wire O2 sims? Why would the 4 wire be better than the 3 wire sims? Just asking...

Mike</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">FLP sent me both of them. So they have the four wire ones. And you dont really need to know why, just know that you need the 4 wire ones if you dont want you SES light on.
