Stupid CEL won't go out...
OBDII scanner passed me. If I disconnect the line from the PCM to the CEL, it goes out. If I ground the wire to the CEL, it turns on. But the light is ALWAYS on when the PCM is connected. Even right as I'm checking the scanner, and it's telling me there's no codes.
As a sidenote, the cluster is still not functioning (as I noted earlier). The CEL light signal is TAPPED into the wire from the EL unit. That is, if the EL unit was grounded, it would turn on the CEL.
Possibilities, from what I can tell:
- The EL unit is grounding the input to the light, turning it on.
- The cluster is malfunctioning, keeping the light on
- The OBDII scanner is flawed. I find this unlikely since it read the sensor values off the ECU just fine.
- Some of the stuff that was deleted from the ECU is still throwing codes for some reason
- Some of the disconnected stuff (speedo, cooling sys relays, etc.) are pissing the ECU off, but it's not throwing a code, just turning the MIL on.
Anybody have any ideas?
