Default Max MAF adjust % with edit?

How much can I adjust the MAF to correct my Lterms? Is there a certain percent that you don't want to go over? I have a 85mm MAF and have corrected it 115% with edit and that has helped a lot but my Lterms are still around 16%.

Huge MAF adjustments do seem to effect the fuel trim cell selected. Whether this is a problem, depends on your circumstances.

If you bought an "uncalibrated" 85mm MAF (e.g. stock LS6 MAF), then adjust it to get it right. In this situation you know you are starting with incorrect readings and you need to correct that. If the MAF was "calibrated" (e.g. SLP's 85mm MAF) then something is potentially wrong, as with your mods, the car should not be that lean.

I was at 25% all the time and throwing codes before I did the 115% thing. I need to get my stock MAF back from a friend and try that. Everything was ok until I did the cam, intake, ported TB, ORP's, and ASP pulley. What I'm not sure of is, I look at the MAF numbers and they are the same for my SLP 85mm MAF as they were for the stock MAF. As in my MAF vs. Frequency Calibration numbers. Shouldn't they be different for a bigger MAF? Before I did the above listed mods I picked up 6rwhp with the MAF. Now I'm just not sure what the heck is going on. Thanks for your help.

Your mods certainly can cause the car to run leaner and thus require adjustment to the MAF table.

Trying the stock MAF would be a good experiment. It will tell you if the SLP MAF is contributing to your problems. I found the SLP MAF calibration to be off a bit.

I just corrected for a similar situation(LS6 MAF and Intake).

Prior to install, my Ltrims were around 1.6 and A/F at WOT was .88-.91

After putting on the LS6 MAF and Intake, the Ltrims were up around +22 under normal driving and WOT. Did a couple runs and settled on a base setting of +15. This lowered my Ltrims(cell 1-19) to an average of 3.2

What I dont understand is why, after changing the base, my Ltrims are at 21.1 at WOT. with O2 values around .93 I thought the Ltrims were locked at WOT to what they were under normal driving. Judging by my O2 values at WOT, I need to lean it out a bit, but the 21.1 Ltrims signify a lean condition and that the PCM is adding fuel.

Also there was no learn time(less than 1 mile) between the base adjustment and the WOT log. Will the PCM adventually bring down the Ltrims at WOT, as they are normally around 3 after adjusting the base?

Not sure what to do now.

Thanks,
