i dont know if this is the correct forum or not
but my SES light goes on and off occasionally
ive only owned the Z for a month and put 2k miles on it, but the SES light has came on 3 times
each time it came on for about an hour of driving or 60 estimated miles
does anyone know how much a GM service shop would charge just to check the codes?
or would it be better to just buy one of those OBD2 things?
any help is appreciated

is the car new ? do u have the warranty ?
go to the dealer and ask them to check the car, or find some local f-body gurus...
i asked my dealer if they do pcm tuning and they said - NO <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

Sometimes a parts place like Autozone will read and clear the codes for free. Beats paying someone >$60 for 2 minutes work (because they own the scanner).
In the long run you might want to buy a scanner such as Autotap or Ease or whatever, if you are into keeping your engine running well or just curious about what's going on.

When the ses light comes on go to autozone and get the codes and let us know what they are and then we can help you.

Also something else to check, re secure your gas cap remove it and reinstall it. Yes the gas cap, its been known to throw a code for some reason. Don't ask but I have heard that. Especially since its only been 60 miles
