When I first got my scan tool, I managed to easily figure out what to log to get a good idea of how my car was performing regarding O2's, LTrims, IAT, ECT, engine timing and KR.
I'm wondering what other parameters there are that are useful to monitor and learn from. It seems that MAP (manifold absolute pressure) is useful, but I have searched LS1tech and can't find a good explanation of what it is useful for and under what conditions it should be monitored (WOT vs. cruise).
Can someone please explain MAP to me? Thanks...

MAP is used to tell the ECM what kind of load the engine is under. The lower the MAP pressure the more power (work) the engine is doing. It's also how the computer compensates for elevation changes.
