I can't help but think though, exactly how complicated is this thing? I would have guessed a microcontroller, some supporting componants, and maybe an OBD-II interface chip.

This also re-enforces my apprehension about killing my PCM, what happens if it dies during programming? (I wish I had a way to save the *entire* flash ram before programming so I could restore it manually with a programmer if anything happens)

However, the findings that this is a common problem were based solely (based on what was posted) upon previous postings on the net about LS1 Edit problems... Food for thought...

horror or whatever, dave responded my email and i'll have to mail the cable back to them so they can repair it, i'd just said it "looks" like common problem because I'd also remember someone else posted on LS1.com about the cable not working LOL by no mean am I trying to bad mouth carputing, common or not... i guess time will tell, was just trying to figure out exactly why is this happening, if this is a QC issue then I'm sure they will address it, so chill out and get your fact straight before you accuse me of bad mouthing carputing based solely on my questions, food for thought...

Seriously though.. didn't mean to accuse you of badmouthing carputing... just wanted to make sure that any newbies that were browsing through the boards didn't think that this is occuring to every unit (or most units)
