Default TCC Calibration

Has anyone messed with this table yet? Do you have to know the specific mph at which your trans shift to each gear to apply and release the clutch in the threshold table? Can you just set the apply tables lower than the shift mph per gear and leave the release tables where they are to get the converter to lock up in 2nd-4th? Anyone have a shift kit and also using the shift firmnness function on Ls1 edit? Would firming it up very slightly hurt the tranny. I have already placed the spark retard table to +15 on shifts. Thanks for any elp, James.

My TCC settings (3.73s):

2nd gear:

No lock-up. If you use lock-up, I would stick to TPS = 31% or less.

3rd Gear:

TPS = 0 - 25% Apply = 35, Release = 31. Then I go apply = 50, 60, and 100 the rest of the way. Release = 40.

4th Gear:

TPS = 0 - 31% Apply = 42, Release = 38. 37% and higher Apply = 60, Release = 38. My car is set to downshift to 3rd more quickly than stock, otherwise I would raise the apply speed for tps = 50% and higher.

NOTE: My car responds 5 mph sooner than the settings shown for some reason. Even though 4th gear Apply is set for 42 mph, I will go into lock-up at 37/38 mph. Same thing happens in 3rd gear.

I would be very carefull about increasing line pressure with a shift kit.

Ragtop...have you messed with the threshold settings? All i really want to change the settings for is racing. The TC lockup is fine for normal driving but i would like for it to lockup under full throttle when i hit 3rd gear. Do i just need to know the speed at which i shift into 3rd, then go a few mph above that? And that is the number i place in the apply box, then what do i need to place in the release box? Thanx, James.

Ragtop, don't know if you are on the LS1Edit mailing list but I just posted the same "bug". I had to set my low-throttle (0-31% or so ) to about 45 lock & 44 unlock in order to get an actual lock unlock of about 39/38. The same goes for the 3/4 and 4/3 shifts. The other shifts mphs come out correct. ?

I originally had 3.23s as well and now have 3.73s.

Toxic: I had 3.23s stock.

Custom: You can change it to lock-up at WOT in 3rd gear. There is a WOT only table, just input the desired speed. I would also change the 93% and 100% TPS settings in the normal table.
