is this theory accurate? scince ls1 edit is locked to no more than 4 pcms, what if i had an EXTRA pcm flashed to my current pcm vin therfor having 2 pcms with the same vin. could it be possible to have 2 pcms with each a diffrent program so <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[angel]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_angel.gif" /> all i would have to do is change pcms at the track

Re: is this theory accurate? hey kev this is steve whats up. yes this is possible but why would you want to do that. the vin number is locked into the pcm and if they were the same, then ls1 edit cant tell the difference. be aware if you are thinking of putting in a pcm with your vin into another vehical to edit it. when the PCM communicates with the BCM and the EBCM the vin numbers will not match and it could get locked and the car will not run. also, when a PCM is new it does not have a vin in it. this is programed once it is in the car and once it is programed you cant change it. GM desinged it this way to prevent PCM thef. although if you got a older car with an ls1 swap and you are not running any other modules this would probably work.

Re: is this theory accurate? There is more than the VIN number that identifies the PCM to the ls1 edit cable. Simply changing the VIN number will not achieve the results you desire.

Re: is this theory accurate? what is it that recognizes it then, cuz all they ask for is the vin# to lock in the cable. i may be completly on the wrong track cuz im sorta computet stupid.
