Can anyone recommend an inexpensive code reader that will handle both foreign (ISO-based BMW) OBD2 and domestic.

I have used PC-based software but I don't need lots of useless features and I prefer a stand-alone battery powered unit if possible.

Low cost is a major desire.

Ithink a universal obdII code reader will read foreign cars ... they are still obdII ... they are not to expensive online.

 

Will Autotap read foreign cars ?

 

Harbor Frieght has one for about $39.
