Putting together an LS1 edit FAQ - need input on topics ->

Yes if you want i can send you the list of Hardware Diagnostic that you turn off, and bingo you in speed density mode.
The GTS here in OZ run NO MAF at all, so it relies on running the car in this mode.
Did you get around and have a look at my site???
Another question the below equation
Air density can be determined using: (MAP – Vapor pressure(H2O)) --------------------------- 0.287 * IAT(in Kelvin)
Is there and easy way to work out Air Density, like how do you workout Vapour pressure( H20)??
One more question, you need to setup how to make Pivot Table, i'm no expert when it come to Excel, so if you can do something similiar as my web site, explain the step by step on how to do the correctmaf.xls
Just capture the screen shot and show the correct way to go about it.
Have a look at my site you see.

Chris, I didn't read all of the posts, someone may have already mentioned this. Would it be possible on the Modified files to give a little better explination of the car that it was for.
I.E. You've got a 99 Camaro SS that says spark/fuel tuning. Was it tuned because of H\C or NOS etc.? On those files more specifics would be nice.

Setting transmission line pressure to vary directly with the throttle position sensor
I have seen this posted a few times before, but dont know if this can be acomplished with LS1Edit.
If so, maybe a section in Faq that details this:
1. Effects
2. How-To

Setting Shift Points on A4 cars
This may sound very basic, but, I understand the 98 LS1 cars [may] have its shift points set by vehicle speed and NOT rpm like later model years.
If so, it would be valuable if the procedure for the 98 A4 cars be outlined.
Ron,

Ron,
How about a how to section that describes how to change your closed loop LTFT values. For example, someone installed an airbox and the LTFT values went up. How would you modify the MAF tables to bring the values back down.
Basically, how can you do with LS1edit what a MAFT does.

Chris,
I have a pretty good success story involving the removal of a MAF screen and porting the MAF ends. It tells the different things I had to do to get the desired results. However, to really do it justice, a picture I have needs to be included. Is this the type of thing you are looking for in your FAQ section?

If somebody could find it in their heart to send chris a flash file from a 2000 Camaro or Firebird with a 8+ psi procharger kit, Headers, & no cats I'd be very happy. Anything similar would do.
I've been complaining in the Forced Induction section for almost a week on how my car put out numbers typical of a 5psi kit on completely stock car. I'm down at least 40 HP due to bad tuning from superchips. I've never tuned a car before so it would be nice to have something to start with. A guy I've been talking with has a similar setup but turns a few hundered more rpms than me and his is putting out over 480 RWHP since he got his tuning optimized after it was screwed up from superchips. Mine put out 420 RWHP on a muggy 80+ degree day. Nooooot good!

Check your pm's Chris. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
Question: How do I raise my shift points, matching both rpms AND mph? With 3:23 gears?
Answer: Still not sure because I have seen many different numbers thrown around already.
My point is, if this FAQ site is going to be done, please make sure the answers are 100% accurate. I am sure you will do a great job. This is a great idea. I would also like to see people share their programs, or at least pieces of it.

AzzHauler - thanks for the outline!
The glossary section isnow up and semi-complete.
As to 100% accuracy - I try my best to put in the correct answers/facts, and have put in ???? for situations I am not sure, but of course, that is no guarauntee of 100% accuracy. If anyone has an comments/corrections, feel free to let me know also.
I will be getting started on the FAQ now

Chris, thanks for addressing my question (on your site) about transferring MAFT settings with LS1 Edit.
I don't know if this has been covered, but how do we "desensitize" the knock sensors?
Thanks again!

Chris, I just want to let you know that with your help I was able to remove my MAFT this morning. Not only that, but I was able to tweak my base setting at x112% rather than being limited to 5% increments with a MAFT (+5, +10, +15, and +20%).
Appreciate your effort!

I would just like to thank you for your effort. I just recieved my LS1 Edit yesterday, and your page has become the bible.
Thanks again, and keep up the good work.

Here's an oldie!!
It looks like a few things on the FAQ are outdated. (VE table jumped out at me).
Is the FAQ still maintained?
Does anyone have more info to add to it? I can think of a few things.
After reading a post from Humpin on the IFR table, I realize that a FAQ would have helped me out LONG ago.
I have some space on a server - I'll gladly put up a page up. I'm by no means even an intermediate tuner, so I don't want to put any "hardcore" info up without some verification and proof-reading.
If there is any serious interest in another Tuning FAQ site, just let me know one way or another.

I would LOVE to see a document/FAQ/HowTo for each section of LS1Edit. Something like how the LS1Edit User's Manual is laid out but have a good explanation of the section. Using the widgets label for an explanation is pretty lame. The LS1Edit mailing list has talked about this a couple of times, but nothing has really developed. I myself would be more than will to pay a good price( about $150ish or more ) for a document that has a good explanation of what each section does.
