Default Laptop Problem with autotap dos version

I'm running windows 98 second edition. I go to DOS prompt start autotap v 2.10. Everything runs fine but when I get out of the program and try to exit DOS prompt it freezes up the laptop.

Is autotap causing this or is there a problem with my laptop?

Thanks

Probably just good old Windows. Make sure you have all unnecessary programs shut down before you go to DOS. Might be better off to just boot into DOS, though.

A lot of the older laptops and computers did not like going back into windows. Are you rebooting to dos from windows 98 or just running autotap a windows icon? If you are rebooting to dos and try to get back into windows with "exit" then a lot of older machines and laptops will crash.

I'm running autotap from a windows icon. It freezes up when I type in exit.

Thanks

Dump 98se and go with W2K. Runs dos and windows version flawlessly. I have it on a P200 with 64mb ram. Seriously, 98SE sucks for laptops.

Try booting to DOS (ie switch to dos mode) when your done with autotap just reboot the machine. My laptop did the same thing, it was a low horsepower laptop that could not run win98 just win 3.1 and win 95. If you dont want wait until windows boots then switch to dos mode, hold down f8 on boot up and tell it command prompt only.
