But you have it backwards.

.. depends if you are using ltft trims to dial in your ve.
Wideband is nice and removes all hassles. Measures more accurately at all points. ltft is done my large "cells" which cover wide ranges of map and rpm points so it will take you ages to get close to right. A wideband will get you there in a day pretty much.

Wow, I didn't check this all day...thanks everyone for the input. This is an open loop speed density 2 bar tune. I have the wideband already, and the narrowbands are not reporting. I am not using trims to tune the VE. I am using the afr % error table in the histogram for that. But, I have come to the conclusion that I am going to set my open loop f/a table to command 12.5-13:1, use the PE table to get to 12:1, and the BE table to get to 11.5:1. That should set me pretty good.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

I think that if the closed loop is not close, when u go open loop u can be far off with no correction. Then the AFR can be to rich or lean. IMHO this is not safe. That is y i think it sould be close in closed loop before going open.

Now, here is another part of my confusion. The 2 bar upgrade is speed density only. So, I was under the impression that it is open loop all the time. Is that not right?

When you unplug the stock O2 sensors it's open loop for sure.
Simply unplugging the MAF doesn't put it in open loop.

open/close loop and sd/maf are two different things that have nothing to do with each other.
open vs close loop is going off o2's vs dictating AFR.
SD vs MAF is looking up airflow vs measuring airflow.
