went to get the computer reflased today, here is a recap:
had fastchips tuning, computer was locked
got ls1 edit, was told i could flash over fastchips instead of a reflash or new comptuer.
then realized i needed a tune to flash over it with, but not any tune ,it had to match my vin, and i cant change the vin inside ls1 edit.
i got a copy of a stock calibration in edit format with my stock vin from fastchips
uploaded the stock programming over top of eds computer tuning
all is fine, but i get a 332 knock sensor circuit error.
i reset and it keeps comming back, i test the sensors and circuit by hand, all is fine
so i get sent another file, this time unfiltered straight from a tech 2, does not work
went to dealer to day to have a complete reflash.
he said it is already updated, and there is nothing to do, there is no restetting.
the only thing he can do is program it initially like it is a blank computer, but he was pretty sure that would lock the computer up for good, he had seen it happen before.
those of you that have had sucessful reflashes at the dealer, what did they do to make it work?
right now im swapping computers with a friend of mine to see if it makes the code go away to confirm that its my computer thats screwed and not the circuit. so far no codes with his computer and no codes from him with my computer either which is a little confusing, i will update shortly... any comments?
Thanks, Dave

my computer is running totally fine in my friends car at the moment, and i still get the code with his perfectly fine computer in my car.. so that means its in the wiring or sensors, problem is i retested all of that per gm troubleshooting instructions straight from the mechanic. and i got all the way to the step that says "replace pcm" lol, did that allready.
today im gonna swap front and rear sensors and see if the code mooves to the front, if so then i'll replace the sensor, if not ill replace the harness.

1998-2002 Pontiac Firebird
with 5.7L Engine (VIN G -- RPO LS1)
1999-2002 Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe
2002 Chevrolet Avalance
1999-2002 GMC Sierra, Yukon, Yukon XL

with 4.8L, 5.3L or 6.0L Engine (VINs V, T, Z, N, U -- RPOs LR4, LM7, L59, LQ9, LQ4)
This bulletin is being revised to add Cadillac Escalade and Cadillac Escalade EXT to the Models. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 02-06-04-023 (Section 6 -- Engine/Propulsion System).
Condition
Some customers may comment on a mild to severe engine ping (commonly referred to as spark knock), usually worse during acceleration and/or an illuminated MIL. Upon investigation, the technician may find DTC P0332 set.
Cause
This condition may be the result of corrosion of the rear bank knock sensor due to water intrusion into the sensor cavity. This condition is more apparent on vehicles in which customers frequently wash the engine compartment.
Correction
Replace the rear bank knock sensor and build a dam (wall) around the sensor using RTV to divert water away from the sensor. Use the procedure and part number listed below.
Remove the intake manifold. Refer to the Intake Manifold Replacement procedure in the Engine Controls sub-section of the appropriate Service Manual.
Remove the wiring harness assembly from the knock sensor.
Remove the rear bank knock sensor.
Install the new rear bank knock sensor. Tighten
Tighten the knock sensor to 20 N·m(15 lb ft).
Install the wiring harness assembly to the knock sensor.
Apply a bead of RTV silicone sealant approximately 9 mm (3/8 in) wide and 6 mm (1/4 in) high along the outside edge of the ridge on the engine block valley cover around the rear bank knock sensor. DO NOT form a complete circle. Leave the rear section open as shown.
From the underside of the intake manifold, completely remove the rear intake manifold seal (foam material).
Install the intake manifold. Refer to the Intake Manifold Replacement procedure in the Engine Controls sub-section of the appropriate Service Manual.
