Default AutoTap tuning Cheat Sheet

****AutoTap Tuning Cheat sheet****
(With MAFT, & with out LS1 Edit)

( Cruise/Base setting: )

Monitor these parameters:
1. Fuel Trim Cell
2. RPM
3. KR
4. LTFT B1S1 & B2S1
5. STFT B1 & B2

Readings from these parameters:
1. Fuel Trim Cell: Average only cells 17-20 for idle.
2. RPM: Engine load
3. KR: As close to 0 as possible.
4. LTFT B1S1 & B2S1: Close to 0 as possible. (Use cells 17-20 to average)
5. STFT B1 & B2: Close to 0 as possible. (Use cells 17-20 to average)

Note: All idle tuning should be done at a steady cruising speed.

( WOT setting: )

Monitor these parameters:
1. Fuel Trim Cell
2. RPM
3. KR
4. LTFT B1S1 & B2S1
5. TPS angle
6. Timing advance
7. O2 sensor B1S1 & B2S1 volts

Readings from these parameters:
1. Fuel Trim Cell: 15 or 22 is WOT.
2. RPM: Engine load.
3. KR: As close to 0 as possible at max timing advance.
4. LTFT B1S1 & B2S1: Average .89(Lean) - .91(Rich) at Fuel Trim Cell 22 & TPS angle at 100%. (.89 being ideal for performance)
5. TPS angle: At 80% or greater is WOT.
6. Timing Advance: 0 KR at max timing advance.
7. O2 sensor B1S1 & B2S1 volts: Average .89(Lean) - .91(Rich) indicated by Fuel Trim Cell 22 & TPS angle at 100%. (.89 being ideal for performance.)

Note: WOT run should start in 2nd gear & you should run up to about 95mph to get good airflow.

Last words: Drive 50 miles + before making next log.

(Any feedback on this would be great. I would like to get everyones ideas on this. If anyone has any thing to add or subtract, would be excellent.) Thanks!

You seem to be monitoring the right stuff. But as slow as autotap is you can only really monitor one or two parameters at a time. If you had something like EASE or eflive then you could get away with that many parameters.

Even if you do have to monitor 2 items at a time, you can still avg. everything up the same. Just do separate logs. Any help with this would be nice. Just trying to make a good tuning sheet that works better than alright.

Why can't you monitor all of those things on the same run?
Are you saying to monitor only one thing at a time and make a run for each one? So I would have to make 7 WOT runs?
That's fine but what if the car is not experiencing KR on that particular run, but then it does when I'm not looking for it? I would never know it of course but do you see my point?

No, just log as many parameters as your computer will let you. If you have a fast computer, with a fast connection, you can run numerous parameters without bogging down. I'm just wanting to know what everyone thinks about the cheat sheet. Any & all feedback on adding or subtracting would be great. Let's take out the guess work.

TeamZR1,

Can you help me make a cheat sheet in a checklist format as listed above? I've viewed a lot of your post on this subject & others, & would really appreciate your help with this checklist, because I truly believe you know what your doing & trust your advice!

If you already have done scans and know that B1 and B2 functions are working correctly and are about equal then there is no sense recording both heads, esp if you have a slowass scanner, thus select 1 head and that reduces the PCM/OBD-II load by reducing the amount of parameters being scanned.

IMHO you also need to record injector pluse width and delivered torque parameters (PID) for that tells you how hard the injectors are working to maintain the AFR setting you tuned or if they are functioning over the max duty cycle they were designed for.

Delivered Torque is your onboard realworld chassie dyno and allows you to compute HP and is a guidemark from scan to scan if the changes you made were positive or negative to your performance goals.
