Default Knock Retard Due To Solid Mounts

I recently put my TT car back together with the Madman & Co. solid motor mounts (there isn't too much room between the body of the car and the turbos and I don't want things moving around on me.)

I have some slight knock retard when I get on the car hard and I am wondering if this if false or real knock.

I have put 100 octane in the car and am only boosting 4 psi on a very conservative timing curve (15 degrees at the torque peak) and I am still seeing knock, so I am pretty sure that it is false.

What can I do about this? I turned up the amount of timing that would be pulled with each knock event because I figured that it would be safer with the turbos, but now I am not sure if I should leave it like that or not...

I am a little bit reluctant to lower the amount of timing that the computer can pull due to the turbos. Suggestions???

Thanks,

Scott

can you try putting stock motor mounts in there to see if the KR is removed?

If it is false knock try to isolate it to the RPM that you are seeing the KR. This will take several runs with ATAP (because it is so friggen slow) to pinpoint a good range. If you are lucky it will be a small band (where some kind of eigen sp? frequency is coming into play). Reduce the sensitivity of the knock sensor within this small RPM band.

To be on the safe side, increase the amount timing that will be pulled, and the gain, if knock does show up in this range. That way, the small false KR will never show up, but if you get some real knock (with a turbo I imagine it will be fairly high) the car will respond quicker with more KR.

Just a suggestion
