Default LC-1 Calibration

OK how do you calibrate your LC-1. I know how to do a free air calibration. I have the key turned on, WB plugged up in the LC-1, the LC-1 serial out plugged into the serial port cabel that came with the LC-1, then the serial plug of the LC-1 connected to my serial-USB cable plugged into the laptop. I try to run the LM programmer and I get a pop up that say "connect serial port to computer and then turn device on."; I can drive and log with HP Tuners so I know that everything is wired correctly. But I cant tune AFR propoerly without setting up the LC-1 correctly, ....or am I wrong?

Just a thought here............do i need to have the HPT connected and running and the LC-1 connected to my laptop at the same time? IF so then I need another serial-USB adapter since my laptop does not have any serial ports on it.

All info will be really really appreciated!

Dave

You can do LS1 calibration using the calibration wire, black from memory and earthing it. Its in the manual anyway. If you have also wired up the LED you will see it go out for 2 sec then come back on. Just do a power cycle and all is now well.
As for the LC1 software, yeah, make sure you connect with the log software first to chose the com port. If thats ok, then the configuration tool will usually connect ok. I found you have to do the log software before trying the config tool.
Its easier just to wire up the push button and use that, than mess about with the software and serial cable.

Well I guess I should have cleared myself up a little more on my post,I am talking about changing the output on the analog like SOUNDENGINEER stated in his sticky! I cannot get the LM Programmer software to open up. So I'm asking about connecting the LC-1 to the laptop so I can adjust my LC-1 to read at 1/12 output!

you need to have the terminator must be in the serial in.
some people also need to download logworks 2 as it used to ship with logworks 1
then you should be able to get into the programmer side

The problem I had was that I didn't have the little 1/8? plug on the PC cable all the way in. You really have to push it on till it clicks in.

Actuall I went to the gym till it got easier. LOL. not really
I hardly ever use that connector as I have the LC-1 wired through FlashScan. Only time I use it is when I want to verify the readings in EFIlive.
