Default I was wondering about the PACE LS6 85mm maf..

I am thinking about putting my old one back on the car. It is a PACE calibrated one. I had given it to a friend who took the screen out, but now I have it back.. If I put it on the car what will happen if the screen is not there? Will it still perform the same as with the screen? I am thinking I will get more air in. Would this affect my A/F? When I had it on my cam only setup I picked up 6rwhp and my A/F was not affected, but the screen was in. Now the screen is out and I am wondering if I will see any negative results..

Vince, it's hard to say. As you know, PACE makes 2 different calibrated 85mm MAFS for our F-body's. I have the "VV" velocity volume version that comes with no screen at all. By your friend removing the screen himself, it would be hard to tell what kind of affect it will have. I say put it on your car and see what happens. It could possibly lean you out a little, do you have a Scanmaster or A-tap? That's the only real way of knowing.

I can have it checked with A-tap to see if the levels change.. I have a maft as well to set things correctly.. I will think about it..

I am surprised no one else has taken the screen out of their Pace MAF..

Vince- JPR took the screen out of my Pace LS6 MAF. No ill effects, just leaned the car out slightly, as you would expect. If you have a MAFT, you can tune for it. The question is: why would you want to? Doesn't an 85mm MAF, even with the screen, flow more air than you will ever need?

Ok.. If you read my original post. I did not pull the screen out.. My friend pulled the screen out.. If I want to use it I have to play with the maft to get the proper WOT readings..
