GM site for pcm recalibration availability.... Just enter your VIN and see if a software upgrade is available for your pcm. Thanks to Steve Gunn on LS1.com for posting this.

Re: GM site for pcm recalibration availability.... I know this won't interest LS1 Edit users, but may be of value to some. Also note that because upgrades are listed for your VIN, doesn't mean they are not already installed in the pcm. I assume you would have to have it read by a dealer and then determine if any of the "upgrades" are needed by your pcm to address issues the upgrades are meant to cover.

Re: GM site for pcm recalibration availability.... To answer the HPP3 question, just remove the tuning, get the dealer upgrade, then re-install the tuning. I tend not to touch these things though if all is working fine. Not broken? Don't screw with it. You know.
I have a question too though. If a car is out of warranty is a dealership still required to correct TSB items free of charge? I looked at the list and saw a couple of the things that were bothering me had been added in early 2002. My warranty ran up about 2 months ago though. Can I get this done "under warranty" since it is a known issue or am I screwed? Thanks.

I would definitely remove HPP3 tuning before going to the dealer,and I also wouldn't assume that HPP3 does anything to address issues the software upgrades supposedly fix. Will they do it out of warranty? I have no idea, doesn't hurt to ask. If you aren't having any issues, I wouldn't bother. I only posted because at least one person that was having upper-rpm performance problems claimed the software update cured his.
Also bear in mind that depending on the individual car/year model the upgrades may be already istallled. I guess no way to know for sure except to let dealer check it out.

If upgrades are part of GM campaign they would be covered for free, if only a service bulletin than it would depend, because emission related changes may be covered to 100,000 miles, check with dealer.But beware some tuning changes can hurt power, know before hand what the upgrades are before going in to have them done. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: GM site for pcm recalibration availability.... I was talking about a TSB that addresses a rattle in the door (I get one sometimes when going over bumps in the road with the windows down). I was wondering if they would fix THAT. Nothing to go with the PCM or engine although it is a TSB listed for March 2002 and my car is a 1999 SS.

No that would cost you but you could read bulletin get part number and do fix yourself.These cars are not that hard to work on, and part would cost a couple of bucks. Only a safety item would bring a recall campaign, and would be free out of warranty.
Re: GM site for pcm recalibration availability.... OK. How do you tell if your car needs anything? I saw a lot of N/A listed for my Formula's VIN. However; I had 2 numbers come up that were light blue and turned out to be internet links to more ingormation on my '99 Yukon. I think I'll save both to a word document and take them to the dealership just for my own peace of mind.
