Check Engine light flashing....Help!!

Check Engine light flashing....Help!!
I've posted this issue in another post about changing Plug #8, but I thought I might catch more attention if I made it a post of its own. As mentioned, I just changed out all of my Plugs. 7 on Monday eve, and #8 last night. I also cleaned and re-oiled the Holley Powershot filter. This morning on my way to work, the Check Engine light comes on, but with my recent Header/Cam install I've thrown a few codes, so I didn't worry too much about it. But whenever I accelerated on the highway the Check Engine light would begin flashing. When I got to work, I checked the filter/Lid setup to make sure that nothing was amuck there...it was just fine. Obviously after the drive in, the plugs and such were too hot to check, not to mention it was still dark. Could I have possibly not put the plug wire on tight enough? Any thoughts on what this code might be? I also re-installed my fuel rail covers...is there a possibility that I disconnected something in putting them back in? They can be a pain installing at times...just grasping at anything at this point.
Please let me know what you guys think, and if anyone has any information on the "Flashing" Check Engine light...that would be great too!!!
TIA!! <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

Re: Check Engine light flashing....Help!!
It's generally misfire related as previously mentioned. Do you notice a perfectly timed stumble, I.E. misfire?
If the plug that drives the coils is plugged in and fine, then check the plug wires themselves.
Other than that, perhaps you cracked a plug (the porcelain part) when you installed it without you knowing.

Re: Check Engine light flashing....Help!!
A flashing SES is emmissions related. Normally it means the car is running rich or has an O2 problem. You may have put too much oil on the holly filter and gotten the excess on the MAF...

Re: Check Engine light flashing....Help!!
I've understood it exactly opposite: a non-flashing SES light is emissions related.
You need to press down very hard to get the plug wires completely seated. I had a flashing SES after my header install, and it was a plug wire not completely seated.

Check the easiest thing first, the Holley filter. Most likely you over-oiled it and the suction from the engine pulled the excess oil into the MAF. Clean out your MAF, reset the PCM, and go from there.

Lets think about this one a second, if you are misfiring, chances are you are affecting the emissions somehow (Like running rich for one) are you not? Anything the PCM does is "emissions related!"
A flashing SES means it's a critical problem needing immediate attention. Something a little oil from a filter won't cause that is unless you dumped the whole bottle of filter oil on it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: Check Engine light flashing....Help!!
I don't think you'd get a flashing SES light if it was oil getting in the maf--loose plug wire, YES.
You could say that any SES light is emissions related, in a sense, but the flashing light indicates something is wrong with the basic operation of the engine. Emissions is irrelevent at that point.
