Which one would you recommend and how come I can't get EFILive V5 without getting AutoTap? You'll have to forgive me as I am computer illiterate. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

EFI Live is essentially an upgraded Autotap. If you get bi-directional controls, you can change a few things to see the effect, but those changes only stay in affect while the laptop is hooked to the car. If you are also going to buy LS1edit, I would not get the bi-directional controls.

Hmm, why not?
You could make the "temporary" changes with EFI Live to see if it is worth making the "permanent" changes in Edit. Not a bad idea IMO. I think it only cost $70 more?

To run either software: EFILiveV5 or AutoTap you will need an AT1 or AT123 interface cable.

Some purchase options are:

1. Cable+AutoTap software (KAT1WG or KAT1WEPT)
2. Cable+EFILiveV5 software (KAT1EFISTD or KAT1EFIPRO)
3. Cable+AutoTap software+EFILiveV5 software (KAT1WG or KAT1WEPT) + (ATEFISTD or ATEFIPRO)

If you already have an existing V1 cable then you can just purchase the EFILiveV5 software. (ATEFISTD)

Note: ATEFIV1STD is a special price deal replacing ATEFISTD until Sep 30.

KAT1WG is $200

ATEFISTD is $145
A grand total of $345 for the calble, Autotap software and EFI LIVE V5 w/out bi-dir.

What's the better deal here? Why would I want both Autotap and EFI LIVE V5 when EFI is supposed to be better and it is probably the one I would use?

EFILiveV5 officially only supports the LS1.
If you are only scanning LS1 vehicles then EFILiveV5 Standard is what you need.
If you want access to bi-directional controls for your LS1 then EFILiveV5 Pro is what you need.

AutoTap officially supports ALL OBD-II vehicles.
If you want to scan non-LS1 vehicles then you will need AutoTap.
