Scanmaster mounting
I don't want to permanently mount my scanmaster (since dad has the LS1 cobra and 5.3 truck, brother has LS1-based engine jeep, and friends have fbods), so how are you guys mounting them?
I wanna put it on the dash above the radio so it's easy to view at WOT, but I don't wanna have velcro strips left in place when I don't have the scanmaster up there.
Any ideas?
Also, which option is it on the scanmaster that shows L-trims? I'm 99% sure I know which one, but the values didn't look similar to Atap values I've seen in the past.
Thanks
Mike
.I don't like the cord color either.its too noticeable..on mine its very light gray should be black or dark grey I might permanently mount mine.on the ta it fits good above the speedo and tach if you inset it a bit..seen a trick camaro install in a duct..I might just go try to get some kind of radar detector and cobble up a mount..maybe I should email ramchargers and see if they can make a cheap mount for it and sell it to us guys that bought it.its a great little toy.
very happy with it...use it way more than my autotap..they should have made it so it would flash at certain rpms.it already has rpm readout then it would be a neat shiftlight.Just a thought.
Ya know the big vent in the center of the dash, for defrosting the windshield?
Well, I'm gonna use a piece of sheet metal the size of the scanner, then attempt to put a couple studs into it, probably at the back corners so it's closer to me. I'll put in 4 if I have to.
Then wrap them in something soft, and then I can just push that into the vent. . . I can have velcro on the sheetmetal for the scanmaster to mount on. (I'd use the hard plastic velcro that Ipass uses, READ: very strong)
I'll post on my findings.
Takes about 3 minutes and a piece of foam, the radio bezel just pulls right off...
Its in pretty good view there as well.
