Default Why does my car redline at 6200 when I used LS1 edit to program a 7000rpm redline?

I don't get it. Even after LS1 edit programming....my car isn't revving as high as its supposed to.

I programmed a 7000rpm rev limiter across the board, yet in second gear the car won't go above 6200rpm or so.

What gives?? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Anyone else heard of or seen this problem??

make sure you changed the limiter in all the places. there is more than one place it needs to be changed.

Are you running an aftermarket tranny or six speed?
If so change your rev limit in neutral to 7Krpm. I had the exact same problem when I switched to an aftermarket tranny. Changed the neutral rev limit to 7Krpm and all was good. With the M6 harness unplugged the car thought it was in neutral.
Something to check.

do you actually bang the limiter or does it just stop pulling?

I'm going to try to reset the CPU and start over I guess <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> I'm out of options.

I'm going back in for tuning on the 28th.

Have you ATAPed it to verify the 6200 shift point? It could be that you have a really slow tach.

No matter how I accelerate in 2nd gear, whether it be WOT or a slow crawl, I always hit a rev limiter at 6100-6200rpm or so. Every other gear seems to be fine. And yes, the tach is a bit slow in every gear, but I've verified using autotap that all the other gears are climbing to the 7000rpm limit.

I was planning on getting ls1 edit but this thing doesn't sound user friendly at all..isn't there a manual with it or something online at the carputing site ...??For the money this thing costs you should be able to just get an email answer from the company that makes this thing..your car is an m6..?? I think I am going to wait for next spring and see if they have any alternative programs out to this.
