Need to replace crankshaft position sensor, any special brand?
Never had to replace one of these before....any "preferred" brand? Any helpful hints on how to replace?

P.S., car contuinually sets a code for CPS...i have EDI Live Pro and autotap. I clear code and it IMMEDIATELY ste the SES again, and I did the crankrelearn three times with no luck. I figure it has to be the sensor (never replaced it in 6 years).

You have to remove the starter to get to it. Two bolts one you can see, the other is way up in there need an extention to get to it.Before you go and do that, make sure you haven't burned any of the wires that go to the crank position sensor. Make sure they're not touching the manifold or the primaries on the headers on the passengers side. Mine weren't cut but burned from the inside. Rewired and all is well. Did not have to replace the sensor.

I got sent a bad PCM that would not perform the relearn, it was a mail order tune.
I bought a new factory PCM and had it flashed at the dealer with my stock tune, no problem getting the CPS relearn done on the new PCM.

If you replaced the sensor, and it still throws codes, maybe check the wiring. It runs up the inner fender by #4 and #6... In that foil wrapped bundle.
Do you have a forged crank?
