Default trans program????

Using a stock PCM setting, I hit the rev limiter from 2nd-3rd at the track. I have a Yank 3k,BTW launches NICE, and it seems that the shifts have gotten softer/slower, but since Y3K install I hit the limiter more I believe. Is this better solved with programming or shift kit? Also, if I install N2O and spray WOT but after launch, will I need worry about over revving during the A4's shifts, or anything else?

2000 NBM Z-28, A4, SFC, LCA, Y3K, K&N, descreened MAF. best 13.4 @ 103mph, stock Goodyear GSA's.

either get HPP3 or EDIT:

with HPP3, just lower the shift where you hit the limiter by 1 till you get off of it.

with edit, just edit the rpm and mph to a lower number till you get off the limiter.

You wont really hit the limiter and faster with n20, cause you will still be shifting at the same rpm/mph NA, but you just get there faster spraying

Thanks Crazyfarmer, so the above will move the limited higher up the scale yeah? what about the softness (slow n smooth) of the shifts from 2nd -3rd? program or shift kit? BTW-did you port your heads or are they stock? reference your sig>

FWIW, nitrous often requires lower shift point settings than NA because of the shift lag and the fact on nitrous the motor is revving faster.

Just get HPP3 or edit and try it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> You will see, its bascially plug and play/program <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

But like Ragtop said, n20 usually likes a lower shift point. Worse case is that you hit the limiter again and just have to lower a little more.

btw: I wouldnt raise the stock rev limiter if you still have stock internals. So just play with the shift settings.

I dont have ported heads.. the 11.95 was run on stock motor with bolt ons and vig3600 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I hope to nail down some mid 11's cam only <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" />

Ok, are you guys saying lower the shift point or line pressure settings? Shift point to actually shift it earlier right? And lower line pressure would make it shift quicker/firmer? tm.
