Scanmaster ?'s
Scanmaster ?'s Don't have a laptop so I'm thinking about getting a Scanmaster. What exactly does it allow you to tune/view (A/F ratio, timing)I have no clue? Also is it worth the $300. Can you log anything with it, or hook it up to your desktop after a run?

As of now, there's no logging capabilities. . . no hooking it up to a laptop, etc.
A friend of mine has Autotap, and I got a killer deal on this one. . .so it works out good. . .
I can see if there's something goofy happening, and if so, we can take a closer look w/ laptop logging.

Re: Scanmaster ?'s BTW, after a WOT run, you can hold recall down & see the lowest avg. 02 sensor voltage, and greatest Knock retard during the run.
Then you can hold down both buttons & it'll show the mph at which those values occurred.
Finally, it is possible to clear trouble codes w/ the scanmaster.

Re: Scanmaster ?'s I agree with you that $300 is a lot, but they are pretty useful. Once you make a bunch of changes to your car, and it is all dialed in, a scanmaster is perfect. It saves having to boot up the laptop every time you want to see how your sensors are doing. The peak/hold function is real nice at the track, too.
If it was half the price, I'd already have one - I had one on my GN and loved it. And it really needs to come in a round configuration so that you can put it in a gauge pod. I haven't seen an install yet that looks good to me...

Re: Scanmaster ?'s I like mine a lot..useful as its always in the car..you can watch you knock retard in real time..
and check trouble codes,erase them temporarily if you want and monitor all that other stuff..Its pricey but what isn't for our cars..
