Am I right in my understanding that to use LS1 Edit you need Autotap, or someother program??? What a $$$ sucking tech geek. What are the options if this is right, like only autotap or what??? tm.

You don't need a scanner to use LS1-Edit. However, having a scanning device of some sort would be highly recommended to see what you're PCM is currently doing and/or the results of your PCM tweaks with LS1-Edit.
The popular scanners are AutoTap, EFILive, and Ease.

Thanks Jim. Do you or anyone you know have experience using the three to gimme a user friendly comparison? I see lots of Q's on A-tap, and only a few on EFI or Ease.
To tink for $550 I thought I'd get the Rolls Royce of computer programs, instead a get a program that is a parasite living off from info you fed it from another program.
BTW, what do the three cost?
TIA.

<img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> With that kind of attitude, why don't you just buy something else? Diablo will have its programmer out soon enough.
Carputing made a business decision not to get in to the scan tool market. There were already some very good players (AutoTap, Ease, CarCode, etc), and at the time they started developing LS1Edit, they wanted to get all of the years covered (at the time, 97-01 LS1 cars & truck variants - and they developed 99-00 first, 97-98 second, and 01-02 third). So, which would you focus on - building a product that had demand but no supply, or entering an already competitive marketplace and delaying the introduction of your 'core' product? They decided to make the tuning packages, and leave the scan tools for others.
If I were going to get another scan tool, I'd get EFILive. JMO.

Thanks Camaroholic, not trying to pass an attitude but damn, i mean damn whatta biatch. Spend $550 for LS1 Edit, then whatever it is for the EFILive, are there any other tools, cables or whatnots you gotta buy to use it effectively? Where is a good place to shop for these scantools? I searched a couple of the sponsors but no see'em? TIA.
