Any benefit to flashing PCM base code before LS1_edit?
I recall reading a GM webpage which lists the number of PCM revisions that are available for a given VIN. My car is a '99 M6 T/A and I'm still using the factory '99 base code PCM. To my understanding, GM has a 'post Y2K' PCM revision for all '99+ LS1 F-bodies, which was developed to change some emissions-related functions and reduce knock with oxygenated fuels. My last dyno reading revealed 406 RWHP/386 ft-# with a 224/.561 single-pattern cam, ARE S1 heads, TTS long tubes with their anemic cats and 2.5" Y-pipe. Ltrims are on the fat side.. approaching 20%, but on the wide-band, exhaust read 13.2:1 in the midrange, tapering down to 12.8:1 at 6500 RPM. Ignition advance is between 25-27 degrees BDTC.
Before my LS1_edit cable comes in, I'd like to know whether or not a PCM re-flash is worth checking into. I could try the post-Y2K base-code flash, but what do I stand to gain? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?"

Re: Any benefit to flashing PCM base code before LS1_edit?
I don't have any tuning right now... LS1_edit is on the way. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any benefits with the newer base code.
