You can also bet that in the future they will broaden this even more.

That two step launch control option would be a nice option! Bob

So if I have a 98 PCM then all I would need is the FlashScan Personal for $699 and that will give me the ability to do a 2 bar SD tune?

Thanks again

Althought it's sometimes hard to think politically correct once the excitement of using EFILive sets in, I urge all of you to do your absolute best to 1) refrain from making post comparing EFILive to any competing products, 2) adhere to the forum rules, in particular, post 2 of the rules

This thread has been the greatest civil discussion of any Scan/Tune package, ever, so please lets all do our best to keep it that way.

unfortunatly there are a few ways to do 2 bar in your situation...1st would be to swap in a 99+ computer/harness and buy the commercial version so you can get the free two bar OS's, 2nd you could use your stock computer and attempt halving the referenced tables but you'll loose resolution(alot of it) or you could see if wait4me can help you out adapting a 99+ pcm to your 98 harness and follow the rest of #1 lol. From the looks of it to do a 2 bar tune on a 98 you really should switch over to a 99+ computer at this point.

I've had EFI Live FlashScan and Tune for 2 weeks now, I already feel so much more familiar with the program and comfortable using it. Thanks mostly to the awesome help on the EFILive forum. TAQuickness has lent more than his fair share of help, as have many others on the EFI Forums. I'm looking forward to getting to where I can start giving back help on the forums instead of just asking questions all the time

The whole setup really amazes me, its overwhelmed me for the first day b/c of how many different settings, parameters, and tables there were you can modify. But once you start playing around w/ the program it all starts making sense very quickly. And if there are any snags, the guys on the efilive forum are always more than willing to help out!

I guess now would be a good time to discuss what makes a leader within an industry. As I'm sure many folks have seen, the term Industry Leader is one that is loosly thrown around in the LSx tuning industry.

So what makes an industry leader? Is the leader the first company to claim they are the leader? No. Is the leader the first company to do something? Not necessarily. Is the leader the company with the least expensive product? Nope. Simply put, the industry leader is the company that sets the standard, and continues to raise the bar.

When LSx tuning hit the consumer market, consumers only had 1 valid option. When a company has no competition, it's quite easy to claim the title of industry leader. As time passed, the demand for a better tuning solution became evident, so another company stepped up to the plate, providing consumers a choice in tuning solutions.

The LSx tuning market had a new industry leader. This was most evident in the fact, company 1 showed little to no interest in keeping their product up to date. Once again, with little to no competition, it's quite easy to claim the title industry leader.

Then comes EFILive's Tuning tools. EFILive had long lead the industry in LSx Scanning, but when the Flashscan and Tune tool were introduced, the LSx tuning market bar was raised. Since EFILive's arrival in the tuning market, the competition has done it's best to keep up. If anyone needs proof of this, take a look at EFILive's competition and their recent changes in product and licensing to resemble the industry leader. At the end of the day, there is only one LSx tuning Industry Leader: EFILive!

What impact does having a SD tune have on a car thats driven in all weather/climates? Isn't the car basically tuned to run good in the temp weather of that day? Will the car throw a ses light for no mass air meter forever or is that something that can be fixed...

I have a sd tune onmy car and it throws a code for no MAF.

Does it throw just a code or are you seeing a SES light. I started my first SD tune back in the day when I was using LS1Edit. I haven't had the maf on my car since then. I have noticed very VERY minimal differences in different climates. If you lived where I do, you would see drastic weather changes from one day to the other. Just the other day it was 58* that day and snowed that evening.
