Hpp3 won't deprogram with harness unplugged from motor.... Right now I have the motor apart, however the PCM is still hooked up and getting power from the battery. I tried to deprogram the computer last night, but it seems as though the Hpp3 can't connect. What has to be plugged in so I can do this? Everything in the car lights up including the dash, so I know I have juice....TIA

Re: Hpp3 won't deprogram with harness unplugged from motor.... When I build a programming harness, I follow the pinouts at LS1.com in the FAQ section. I hook up all the listed grounds, all the listed +12V battery leads, and then put a switch on the ignition wire. The only other wire needed is the OBDII data wire.
So, assuming you have all the grounds, battery leads, ignition, and serial data, then it *should* program.
