G-tech Competition Performance Meter
Horist, did you get the previous version or this Competition Version ?
I know the track is the best place, but the track around here closes this week!! Any more feedback?
Damn... another thing to buy now heh
i used mine at the track and it was never more than .05 sec off from what the time slip said and gtech explains why the mph is off. gtech gives you the actual mph at the very end of the 1/4 mile where at the track you get your average mph over the last 66ft. i really want one of those new ones but i would also like a real wide band o2 sensor too, i need to rob a bank of something.
that new unit looks cool, i have the old unit and it is extremly acurate, the people that slam them don't know how to use them and it looks like the new unit is easier than the old one to use.

Wow, .05 sec off is excellent! Maybe the new one is more accurate?!! I hope. Maybe the G-Tech Competition is a gadget I can invest in. I can't lose, they said I can try it for 30 days and return it if I don't like it.
Anyone else...?

at the track, the 2 times i ran it, 17.15 and 17.18
not too bad, the mph was about 3 mph high both times.
I didnt buy it,a friend had one, and i was just playing around with it, ran the car at the track, just to see how accurate the g-tech was.
Ryan.

Granted that it's accurate at the track. What about hp, tq, lateral g's and so on?

The topic is G-Tech Competition, but how good is it in the other features it has? Given that 1/4 mile is accurate, what about hp, tq, g's and so on...thanks for all the help!!!

i would thing the lateral g part would be dead on since it is a g meter, all the extra 1/4 mile functions should be real acurate also. the other stuff probably won't be all that acurate but thats ok as long as it is consistant. for example, on a dyno gears are going to cost you HP but with the g-tech they are going to show more HP so it can't be dead on like the 1/4 mile functions. just being able to graph it even if it is off a few % would be very cool. i have to wonder how it picks up the RPM signal, i wonder if it is dependable? screw it!!!! i am just going to order one.
