Default Poor gas mileage...O2s goin out?

Now please don't hate on me for this... I'm not the biggest electronics whiz in the world.

Will bad front O2s cause your mileage to suck all of a sudden? I'm not getting an SES light though, so I'm asking y'all. Far as I know, the car still has the originals with 133,000 miles(I know, they should have been replaced about 47 states ago), and I plan to replace them anywho. I just wanna know if the front O2s throw a code when they go south, and if they cause a sudden drop in gas mileage?

yes, lazy sensors can impact fuel economy, and yes if they get bad enough they'll set an SES (and put you in full time open loop till it's fixed... which will completely kill you gas mileage if you're not tuned for it)

Not to hijack the thread, but I installed a 224/228 cam this weekend and went to start it up and she fired right up. Now the problem was we let it run for like 15 minutes and it stayed in open loop the whole time and I was getting an SES light for low effeciancy in my right frony O2. My gas mileage is terrible and the SES light is pissing me off so I changed the 02's out and I still have the SES light. What would you reccomned to fix this and what would cause my car to continuasly stay in open loop even after new 02's? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
