Does Chevy and Ponitac Dyno their engines? Does Chevy and Ponitac Dyno their LS - 1 engines after they are made? Does anybody know the record highs, lows, and avg HP,TQ of thier LS-1?
Re: Does Chevy and Ponitac Dyno their engines? I don't work for GM, but I spend alot of my time in front of a dyno. Here is what I have seen.
1998-2000: High 320's, Low 270's (mine 273 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> )
2001-2002: High 330's, Low 280's

My stock 2002 Z28 put down 270rwhp at 3000 miles on a Mustang dyno.

Re: Does Chevy and Ponitac Dyno their engines? I had a stall behind mine when my motor was stock, so it probably dyno'd a little low on HP, but high on TQ:
297 RWHP / 345 RWTQ
I've heard many guys say the average is around 305 to 315 HP and TQ. M6's dyno higher due to the parasitic losses in the A-4 and converter. BUT, A4's seem to get better ET's consistently (though trap speed may be lower.)
