I am considering LS1 Edit. I read where some users are running it with Windows XP. What operating system are most of you using and what problems if any have you had?

I'm using WinMe.... no problem. I think the XP people were having problems using the serial ports. Since all the new computers are going to that legacy free theme.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

You guys are exactly right, it won't work with XP. I bought a brand new Gateway 600L loaded with XP Professional specifically to use with Edit and EASE, and now I need to get yet another computer (I'm not about to load Win98 on this machine). I should have bought a used laptop in the first place: http://usedlaptopsonline.com/index.html

So it won't run with XP or is just the no serial port issue?

I originally thought it was a serial port issue, but it turned out to be an XP problem. The software essentially rejects programs not written with XP in mind. The .dll files, and other files, have been "updated" and aren't compatible LS1 Edit, and even EASE (before v2).

I run it with XP Pro. No problems. I got it hooked to the 9pin on the laptop. If there were problems before they must have been resolved. I'm running the latest version of it too.

Edit worked for a couple of months on my XP machine before it stopped working. I hope you XP users don't experience the same plight. Continued good luck!

I use a four port keyspan usb to serial adapter. I have a wideband 02 on one channel, autotap/ls1-edit on the other. The third port is a programable boost/timing/fuel controller. The last channel is open but will be adding an 8 port egt setup. I have run the o2, autotap, and boost controller at the same time with no problems. the adapter can support 920Kb/s on each channel, more than enough. The one B&B sells made by ionetworks is supposed to work fine also.
The keyspan is half the price of the B&B. Anything from Belkin should be avoided, very buggy.
