timing help ls1edit/efilive5
when look at my timing table at 6000 rpm and 1.08gms\cyl it says my timing should be 7 degrees
my datalog shows me running 14 degrees
can anyone help with this!
Here's a quick explanation of setting up your map to show spark plotted as gm/cyl v's rpm.
Creating the airflow (gm/cyl) calulated PID
=======================================
On the F12 tab page make sure these two PIDs are selected: {SAE.J1979.MAF} and {SAE.J1979.RPM}.
Locate the PID called {EFI.CALC.CALC01} (where EFI is in the Mfg column, CALC is in the Use column and CALC01 is in the PID column).
Right click on this PID and select "Edit PID properties..."
Set the Title to CYLAIR
Set the Description to Air/Cyl
Set the Expression to {SAE.J1979.MAF} * 15 / {SAE.J1979.RPM}
Set the units to gm/cyl
Set the Display to 0 to 3
Set the Alarm to -1 to 4
Click Verify - you should see "Expression is valid". If not recheck the above instructions.
Click OK.
Setting up the axis.
=======================================
On the F10 tab page click "Recall".
If the PIDs have been selected/set up correctly you will see:
Col=SAE.J1979.RPM
Min: 400
Step: 200
Row=EFI.CALC.CALC01
Min: 0.08
Step: 0.04
This representation is as close to the PCM calibration as possible.
Note: in the PCM the RPM values change to a step of 400 after about 2400 rpm - you need to take this into account when comparing values to your calibration.
the problem i am having i just did a log at 5000 rpm i am seeing about 21 degrees of timing when i look at the log it show i am getting about 1.23 gms\cyl @ 5000 so i go into the ls1edit look at the high octane map and it shows only 12.9 degrees on the timing
? do i need to be adding a # to the 12.9 on that map to get the timing that i am reading on the log
i looked around in ls1edit to see if it was adding timing anywhere else could not find anything
i am use to the fast (speed pro) what is on the map is what i get on the log
any help would be thankful

Ex. 1.23 gms\cyl @ 5000
Base spark = 15
Advance = 17
IAT at 100kpa and 104* = -2
total timing = 30
Base spark is only used when the throttle is closed. I'm now trying to figure out the same problem. My advace table says 15 but I'm seeing 18. Can someone explain?
