Ok, I sprayed the shiznit out of the 02s with the cleaner three times, let it partially air dry for a few and then cleaned them off with a clean rag. I reset the pcm and took it for a spin. Car is still idling a little high (850) but no more surging in gear and the car is very responsive. Time will tell if this did the trick.

I finally got the car back on the ground and had decent weather yesterday so I took it for a ride. I drove the car around for a good hour and never got the code. Was Ed able to delete this code? I asked him to but when you get your computer back, he sends no info on what codes he deleted. I would say he was able to because mine occured very often. Id say about every 20 miles it would show up. Id clear it with my autotap and 20 miles later it was back. So as of now, no Insufficient Switching code for me.

My code came on within 11 miles LOL. Oh well, back to permanent open loop for me. I still got 26 mpg on the highway cruising at 90 mph with two races up to 150 against a bpu++ supra <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Gotta love the LS1, gotta hate 02s...

I had the same problem with both front O2's after I put on my SLP lt's, offroad y, and loudmouth. I just switched to the ATR catback and within 50 miles no ses light. My guess is loss of back pressure screwed with the readings. Now that there is more back pressure everything is fine and it feels more responsive. I'm no expert but that's what I can derive from it.

hey Trans AM I thought of something else that I did when I replaced the o2 that cured my switching code problem. I also changed my stock MAF for the PACE MAF cause according to the autotap with the stock one I was running rich,, now this is just a thought but what if the headers were causing it to run rich enough to the point were the computer couldn't compensate to make the mixture lean quickly enough under non WOT conditions, this is speculation but it has now been about 4-6 days and I still do not have the code. I am judging this from an air fuel gauge but doesn't the PCM try to make the mixture as lean as possible for emissions reasons but bounces between rich and lean to do this?

Time for an update, I dug this thread up because both of my 02s died AGAIN.
What causes 02s to repeatedly die? How can I check for a bad wiring connection or the like? I have checked my collectors for leaks numerous times, not a trace of exhaust stains anywhere. I know LOTS of people are struggling / have struggled with 02 sensor issues especially after heads and cam swaps, but this is getting ridiculous!! Any suggestions welcome.

Ok, one of my friends suggested that the problem was caused by the 02 sensor not penetrating far enough into the exhaust stream after looking at my sensors. He noticed that the sensors were black only on the tip because the 02 bung was shielding most of the sensor. I am going to replace the bungs with some shallow ones and see if that helps. I will keep you guys posted.
