mine were acting funny so I took a propane torch and heated the tip of the sensor until it glowed red. Let cool and reinstall. Worked great <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

SJH, the artist formerly known as JustMe was the one who posted burning off the deposits with a torch.
Come to think of it, it makes sense. With headers it might take longer to heat up the 02's and the meantime they get coated with junk.

My car threw the code once, and the O2 simms took care of it from that point on. That was for the rear ones, but I'm guessing this problems is with the front ones.
The bung on my Hookers was screwed up enough by Hooker, if somehow you could have forced the O2 into the bung, the tip would have been obscured by part of the flange. Don't know if this applies to the other headers or not. Seems like it happens more the futher down stream the O2's are.
Local used car dealer claims brake fluid works good for cleaning up deposits on O2 sensors too. I don't know as I've not tried it.

The problem i'm having is with B2S1 and the headers are the TTS LT's.
The headers were on a 2000 WS6 with the same type of mods just before my car and they did not throw a code or anything!!

I figured out what was killing my 02s several months ago. A bad head gasket was leaking coolant and fouling the plugs like crazy.

One thing I haven't heard being mentioned at all is that the catalytic converters might have burned up. I too got an SES light after a header install, & it turned out to be the cats --- they were fried to a crisp. The insides looked like the grill at a BBQ joint.
So if your sensors look OK, check the cats themselves.

Sensor wiring is just as important as the element. remember not to zip tie them too tightly to the other wiring or harness clips. They operate a little differently than you think. Pinching the wiring will be a bad thing, kinda like crossing the streams in ghostbusters <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> So all you guys, recheck your wiring. It can wreak havoc!

oh yeah, one more thing...if the o2 cross counts were switching TOO MUCH you will get a catalytic converter inefficiency code, and the rear o2's will appear to be switching as rapidly as the front ones. Again, not a good thing. Lazy sensors can have a poor air supply, crap on them, or just really old (not likely). Cross counts = switching from rich to lean or from .1 to .9 volt.

Thanks guys, I'll try a few more things that were mentioned.
I am also trying to track what feels/sounds like a "slight" infrequent "miss" that has also just started. All plugs, wires, push rods, and springs are good. I might just be paranoid after the 02 issue started.
Also I just found a place that will weld up the peices I need to get rid of the cats wile on the car gaining me 1.5" of ground clearance!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I deleted rear O2's. Just to be safe, what are ALL of the codes to delete rear O2's?
My front O2's are throwin' codes <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
I'm gonna try some of these tricks <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Will the fact of not having cats screw with the front sensors??

When you get rid of the cats also get rid of the cat over temp settings. What code are your frount 02's setting?
What change have you made that started the codes? What type/brand of mods? I'm wondering if this is just an LT problem. Or if it is connections or what other common factor we are having??

Improper switching. Was mostly on Bank One. Now I get them on both banks (front ofcourse) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
I wouldn't get these codes neeearly as often before the H/C install.

I'm getting P0133, and p0153 (Slow Response) after my JH LT Header install. No custom programming. And I'm also getting P1415 (AIR Bank 1). I didn't use the AIR restrictor.
I was wondering if I'm (possibly We) are getting the O2 codes because of the AIR pumping too much/little air or because it's crapped out from the headers.
How many of us are getting the code that have an AIR pump with no restrictor mod? And how many of us are getting an O2 code that have deleted the AIR?
Sounds like we may need a survey of mods/conditions associated with the exact faults to figure this out.
For me: Lid, cutout, LT headers with no AIR Restrictor, stock tuning. P0133, P0152, P1415

Here's a real stab in the dark for ya: check your pcm for burnt pins related to the O2s. Failing that, perhaps get your pcm checked out and reflashed, and try to keep tuning flashes to a minumum (the more flashes, the greater chance of something going amiss with your pcm).

I really don't think it's the PCM, the problem is happening after header installs and H/C installs with and without reprogramming the PCM. And EEPROMs are able to take thousands of reflashes with no adverse affects.
I will check the O2 extension wires and harnesses for bad/burnt pins or discontinuities.
