Re: Performance Chip
We dont have chips in our LS1 cars. We have a PCM and there are handheld programmers that can do some limited tuning stuff and there is software bywhich you can tune numerous tables in the PCM.
I have an Eprom (chip) in my 3rd gen Camaro which has an ECM controlling the engine function. That may by what you are thinking about. Tuning the newer (OBDII) cars is done alot different than the OBDI cars.

Re: Performance Chip
Well, I'm actually from Canton/Akron, Ohio.
But now I work for Ford (yes, I said Ford) in Dearborn. Very ironic, but I enjoy working at Ford.

Re: Performance Chip
I do believe you can get a Power Module that install in-line with the PCM wiring harness.
Check out www.jetchip.com <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I have NEVER seen a gain with the jetchip on the car. In fact, it is usually a 3 hp mod to REMOVE the thing.

Re: Performance Chip
There is a tuning module for that vehicle. I here it isn't that great... Also theres Hypertech Power Programer. You can set adjustments to compensate for different tire size, geas, RPM limiter, top end speed, thermostat change. It also offers Hypertech Power Program. Basisly it sets timing / air/fuel.
Price ranges from $329.00 to$429.00.
I bought one and I don't think it's worth the price. It runs slightly better with the 160' thermostat and the power program.
I seen online another product that seemed a lot better. PREDATOR by Diablo. It's also about $400.00.
I suggest if you make a chioce, shop for prices. The Hypertech Programer was over $400.00 from Hypertech. I got it elsewhere for $329.00.
Hope this helped some.
