O2 Sensor

Replacing all four could be a pretty expensive proposition... I think they run near $70 each...
What problems are you having?

I just assume replace all 4 at the same time given they are not alot of $$$. The codes I keep getting are 1133, 1153, 0133, 0153, 1416. I looked them up on http://.service.gm.com and they all relate to O2 sensors......Scott

If your going to replace all of them, will you send me your old ones? I need a few to experiment with. I'll pay shipping.

Those are all codes for the front O2's. Not sure what the P1416 is though.

1133 and 1153 front O2's (pretty much not working)
Thats the short answer. I can see you know the numbers are too stable. For these to "go bad" at the same time seems like something else is the cause of this code.
0133 and 0153 slow response. WHEN THESE CODES LIGHT AT THE SAME TIME: (straight out of GM service manual) it is a strong indication of fuel contamination. ADVISE the customer to try a different fuel company.
Causes : Bad fuel
Bad Fuel filter
Exhaust leak 6-12 inches from HO2S
Poor grounding, poor alternator
Improper use of RTV (silicone) sealant
RTV can ruin O2 sensors if you use it on
exhaust manifolds, block off plates, ect.

Oh, if you do replace sensors, just get O2 simms for the back two. $98 a pair.
1416 has to do with your AIR pump. Located under the fuse boxes on the driver side of the engine bay. Directly behind the fog light. Check to see if the air pump is operating or inop. Only comes on at cold start. (In the morning is always good time to check this) It runs for about 5 mins.

I just got the car back and the dealer replaced both front O2 sensors. P1416 has only came on 2 times in the last year. Seems like they got the problem solved but only time will tell.....Scott
SCONNOR, if none of the above is a problem, have you tried running your car without a MAFT for a few weeks? You might want to let the PCM learn some of the lean/rich condition without the MAFT, keep checking your Fuel Trims and see if you can stabilize them without the MAFT. Of course, you need working O2's for that. I wouldn't advise it if you are running lean without the MAFT. Rich is okay for ahile.

Your running rich.

I'm thinking the same. Maybe due to all the TB and aftermarket MAF mods. Maybe the MAFT is not correct because the PCM is totally confused by these mods. Maybe this needs to be tuned via O2 Mv instead of LTFT's. ??????? I'd take the MAFT off and drive it for a few weeks with those new sensors.
