Default Cat Over-temp Question

When this kicks in does it ADD fuel or TAKE AWAY fuel? Ive herd both and its driving me crazy. I turned it off and went through a bottle of nitrous with the cats. no problems. i turned it off bc i didnt want the car to go lean spraying (if it does pull fuel) ive since installde an off road Y pipe. Thanks

turning it off leans the car out on topend

COT feature adds fuel to cool the cats, so without it you arent getting the fuel up top thus leaning your car out more

The COT "feature" adds fuel in 4 steps, based upon calculated theoretical cat temps. At each step, the PCM will add fuel.. On a wideband, you will see the fuel as a step change in A/F ratio.. if all 4 steps are enabled, you will see 4 distinct "step" in your A/F ratio.. which can go all the way to single digits...

Turning it off MAY lean you out, ONLY if you are hitting the step limits..
