Cat Over-temp Question
Cat Over-temp Question When this kicks in does it ADD fuel or TAKE AWAY fuel? Ive herd both and its driving me crazy. I turned it off and went through a bottle of nitrous with the cats. no problems. i turned it off bc i didnt want the car to go lean spraying (if it does pull fuel) ive since installde an off road Y pipe. Thanks

COT feature adds fuel to cool the cats, so without it you arent getting the fuel up top thus leaning your car out more

Re: Cat Over-temp Question The COT "feature" adds fuel in 4 steps, based upon calculated theoretical cat temps. At each step, the PCM will add fuel.. On a wideband, you will see the fuel as a step change in A/F ratio.. if all 4 steps are enabled, you will see 4 distinct "step" in your A/F ratio.. which can go all the way to single digits...
Turning it off MAY lean you out, ONLY if you are hitting the step limits..
