Default Hp Tuner Help

Well, guys I just bought hp tuners off of member, it will be here on monday, and I'm new at this computer tuning, but he said I could find someone with the same set-up and ask them to send a batch file I could print out and put in the program. Can someone let me know if this is true.

If so, here are my mods.

1998 z28 A4
Stock bottom end
Prc ls6 cnc ported heads (stock valve size)
MS3 on a 113 LSA
Stock rockers
Ls6 intake
42 lbs injectors
Ported throttle body (idle hole is already drilled bigger)
MTI air lid
smooth bellows
pacesetter lt's
TSP 3" ORY
TSP rumbler catback
Electric cutouts
yank ss 3800 stall
4.11
150 wet shot of NX

Also it is hypertech programed right now, will i have to remove that?

Thanks

Stephen

I personally would back up the hypertech program on your pc. Remove it and place the stock tune in it. I would then work it from there. If you back up the hypertech tune, will you please send me a copy to d.goode@comcast.net

I am using other tunes and comparisons to educate myself on tuning.

You have a lot of mods stacked up there and probably will
not find an entirely identical tune file. But taking someone
else's file, you won't know what's buried in it. I recommend
you work through things methodically and keep notes, that
is a lot of stuff to get through.

As it happens, this weekend sometime I'm going to be trying
to deal with a similar setup (but on an '02) so I may have
some good chunks for your stew, later.

How can you be running on 42lb injectors and a big cam,
with only a Hypertech tune? Seems unlikely; was this car
tuned before and then you laid the Hypertech on top of
that?

I very much agree with the others. As a new tuner myself, you'll learn a great deal more if work work a stock tune up specifically for your car. Also, you have no idea what someone else may have put into their tunes. (especially when you don't really know what you're looking at yet). It is good to look at other tunes though and learn why people do what they do and learn from them.

On a side note, you'll definitely need to change some basic things if your putting a new cam in and changing injectors.

Good Luck!
