HELP!!!! fried my computer Well, last night it was on a dyno to tune my car with the predator I just got. While we were making changes, in the middle of a program download one of the guys decides to take the key out of the ignition. The car is at the dealer now, but I am worried that they will know that I have have had custom programming done.We could not get any response out of the computer, even from the scan tool we had. Can the dealer read the computer without replacing or flashing it? Also, can I get a used computer somewhere if the dealer won't warranty it?

again, and tell the Predator to "Restore"?
Or it the PCM truly brain-dead?
If it's really hosed, you could try playing
dumb... tell 'em the battery went dead when
you went over the railroad tracks, or sump'n.
Let 'em chase it for a while and get a new
battery under warranty. Just a thought. If
the PCM is too confused to run its program,
how could you say that the data's any better?
Last option is, either buy a PCM core (dude
has them for sale in the Parts For Sale, you
would have to have a dealer or somebody flash
it, probably set you back $250 all told plus
the mail delay. Could try the same with your
current one, but then you're more visible to
radar.

Re: HELP!!!! fried my computer Thanks jimmyblue, I am waiting for the dealers response, I will try playing dumb and see what happens. I just talked to Alex at Diablo, and he told me that if the dealer gives me problems he would reprogram my computer for free, and send it back to me the same day he recieves it. Wow, I was shocked that he would offer that level of customer service. Looks like I have an way out if the dealer gives me a hard time.
