I have a 2000 chevrolet truck with a 5.7 liter in it. Is there any way to reprogam the computer without buying a reprogrammer. I have seen on this forum the ls1 editor, can this be used on my truck. If this can be done on my truck, what would it cost me to have someone with this editor reproram my truck. Any help would be appreciated.

Ls1 edit is for the newer body style trucks you may want to talk with other people in here that have an lt1 or other engines to find out what will work on your 5.7 liter. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

LS1Edit wouldn't work with yours if you are correct and it is a Vortec 5700 which was the old school small block. LT1Edit won't work on it either I'm pretty sure.
You're only other option is to either find someone local that knows how to get into and then successfully re-program the PCM OR send your PCM to Ed Wrong @ Fastchip, Steve Cole @ TTS, or even MTI or other group with known PCM tuning experience.
