Default "service vehicle" dash light...what does it mean???

I scanned the car, everything is fine, no codes. The Service vehicle light comes on and stays on. I looked in the owners manual, but it wasn't very helpful. What types of things are tied into this particular light? I recently did a crank sensor position sensor replacement and relarn (tok several times with a snap-on scanner to do the relearn!!). Car drives fine, but the light never came on before.

That light normally comes on when you remove things like the airbags.

hmm, nothing removed. Also, I just noticed that it doesn't want to downshift on its own...I can down shift manually and it works fine, but will not downshift aytomatically...

IMO it's trying to tell you that it's ready for the 300 shot.
what else could it mean?

I know some of the other gm cars (Grand Ams for one) will turn that light on if you have an exterior bulb out (could be any one from marker light to headlight).
