Soon I'll be installing a cam and LT's (in sig). At the same time, I wanted to do an LS6 intake but I can't really spare the extra $500 including labor to install it. Let's say in a couple months I purchase one and install it, do I have to re tune with LS1 Edit? It's pretty steep for roughly $400 bucks a pop. I wanted to do the LS6 intake and a Shaner TB at the same time.

any mod that affects AFR tuning is needed to get optimum performance.your best bet is to get all your mods done first then tune.i know its a PITA because youre never done modding. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

 

Yes, you'll probably run a little more lean after the LS6 intake install. I am and I am in the process of correcting it.

 

If your only modification is to replace your LS1 intake manifold with the LS6 version, you will NOT need to modify your tuning. Your engine will NOT run leaner. One of the best features of modern engines is that, within limits, they continuously tune themselves. At any given throttle opening, airflow will be higher with the LS6 intake but the MAF sensor will detect the increase and the PCM will adjust fuel flow accordingly. The same is true of porting the TB or adding a less restrictive air lid. As long as the MAF is unmodified, the PCM will accurately compensate for improved induction-path airflow.
