Default How hard will it be to get a 228/228 .588/.588 112 cam to idle?

Hey, I just got a comp cam 228 XE-R, and I should be gettin together with a friend to tune it later today with LS1 Edit. I'm just curious how hard it is gonna be to tune this thing to idle and if you have any hints on how to get it idleing right, cuz right now, it won't idle at all!!! I had to two foot it on the way home today and it was a pain in the *** cuz it's an M6, and I had to get on the clutch and put it in neutral and get right into the gas and then left foot on brake so it didn't stall out!! It won't find or keep an idle at all on stock tuning!! TIA for any help

I would first change the idle to 900-1000 rpm. Then look at the IAC count and drill the TB hole bigger till the count is around 30.Takes a little time but can be done easilly enough.
I've got the TR224 on 112 idling perfectly at 850rpm by ussing this method.

in mine a friend raised mine to about 900 or so, but i still have to drill the TB out for the IAC counts to go down. right now it doesnt like to go into gear and run well at first, but after a few seconds it will be ok. also raise the timing a little bit in the lower throttle postions to help it run a little better.

aight, thanks guys! Now my question is, where is the hole on the TB that you are supposed to drill, and what should I use to drill it, and how big? Sorry about the questions, but i'm new to this and am not sure what you guys are talking about. Thanks!

I have almost the same cap and my m6 runs great. Only thing i noticed is a little surge on hot start up. for a few seconds other that that no rpoblems with stock tuning and no hole in tb. I have ls1 edit and plan to drill tb but i am happy with the way car runs now.

Nah, can't make it out to winner's circle, have work. But yeah, I can't wait to tune it either, but we gotta get our hands on atap first before we can! As of now though, it's still fun shifting at 6800 rpm even though it's running pig rich!
