i installed the autometer digital air/fuel ratio guage on my 01 WS6. I am positive I ran into into one of my front o2 sensors. I believe I spliced it into the purple wire, or maybe it was a pruple wire with a white stripe on it. The only thing I ran into my PCM was my shift light.

So would it be easier and safer to run it to the pcm or to the actual o2 sensor, if so, how would i do that???

i think they all are saying the #69wire
that goes into the pcm,if i remember right
i think it is the #69wire
(purple with white stripe) on C1(connector #1)
and i think it is the blue connector.
that is normale to move back and forth
rapidly, not all the way from end to end
though,just center to slight rich,
depinding if it is stock or has been programed

Glad it wokred out for ya. I know mine is really steady and precise whe I first start it up and the engine is cold. But after she warms up its all over the place. The reason is moves so much is b/c your pcm is constantly adjusting the fuel/air mixture for gas mileage, emissions, etc...

The one on my carbed L98 didn't... I guess that's one advantage to a non-ECM setup <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I know it jumps around alot, but when I floor it and give it 100% throttle it stops jumping and pretty much stays buried in the few green bars. Just my $.02.

I have the same Autometer gauge, just have yet to install it. I also ordered at the same time from SpeedInc. an electrical O2 sensor adaptor that saves me from having to cut and splice into O2 sensor wires which can be tempermental when messed with.

I have an '01 Z28 and I found the best place to get the correct wire is to tap into the purple with the white strip wire right at the fuel rail on the driver side. Just follow the wire loom up and it is among all the wire off the main wiring harness.
